APV Direct Steam Injection (DSI) Uperizer UHT processing Plant with Aseptic Homogeniser, previously used for the sterilisation of milk and dairy products. The installation has a processing capacity of 7.600 litres per hour and is designed for high-temperature sterilisation at temperatures of up to 150°C., The system utilises direct steam injection for rapid product heating, followed by flash cooling under vacuum to achieve the desired processing temperature. The line is equipped with an APV Gaulin MC 45-5TPSX aseptic homogeniser, ensuring efficient homogenisation under high pressure for consistent product quality., In the Uperizer head, pure, culinary-grade steam is injected directly into the product flow under high pressure. This causes the temperature to rise almost instantaneously—within fractions of a second—to between 140 °C and 150 °C. The milk is then held at this temperature for a few seconds in a holding tube to eliminate all bacteria and heat-resistant spores. The hot product flows directly into a vacuum expansion chamber (the flash vessel). Due to the sudden drop in pressure, the product immediately cools down—via rapid evaporation—to its original temperature (approx. 75–80 °C). During this flash process, the exact amount of water that was previously added to the milk as steam evaporates.
